Lakewood 4th of July Parade

Snowbaby got to join in the fun at this year's Lakewood 4th of July parade and dream BIG in Red, White, and Blue!

Snowbaby first-timers love it!

The day of the neighborhood's annual community parade cooled down with a sudden morning thunderstorm where the crowds got to enjoy a pleasant event! Crowds of families and friends gathered along Lakewood Boulevard's sidewalks anticipating the new floats put together by several groups in the community. As red, white and blue painted the crowds, the decorated houses and the cheers of patriotic happiness, the floats did not disappoint. The Lakewood Early Childhood PTA (LECPTA) float, sponsored by Comerica Bank® kicked off this year's 40th Annual Lakewood Home Festival with their auction party theme of "Lights, Camera, Lakewood". The members danced to iconic movie soundtracks and their children delighted crowds by throwing Red Velvet Rope Twizzlers and Pop Rocks, while handing out fans. The Woodrow Wilson High School cheerleaders pumped up the crowds with several performances of "We love Lakewood" chants. The entourage of classic cars, cheerleaders, mobile bands and decorated vehicles rolled down the parade was a sight to see!

To compliment the hot sun, happy cheers and patriotic Lakewood pride, Snowbaby set up their tent along Lakewood Boulevard between Lakeshore Drive and West Shore Drive and passed out their complimentary creamy shaved ice. There were three flavors - sweet and tangy strawberry, delectable chocolate, and delicious vanilla bean! Each flavor is made with fresh ingredients - organic milk, cream, and the flavor ingredients of fresh fruit or real chocolate and vanilla bean - versus the typical shaved ice shop made from milk powders, artificial sweeteners, flavors and coloring.

As passersby walked along the parade jumping from party-to-party, they curiously stopped at the smiley-faced tent and picked up a cup of smooth, creamy shaved ice served with a side of fresh strawberries and drizzled with sweet condensed milk. Children came back multiple times for seconds and thirds saying they liked it better than ice cream - some called it "snow", others called it "ham"! Others asked what the new dessert was and where to get more. Snowbaby will be open to catering event requests and popping up around East Dallas locations until they land a location. Follow them on FacebookInstagram andTwitter for update as they are targeted to open in early 2017 in the Lakewood area and will have a Grand Opening welcoming the neighborhood with the delightful new dessert.
